A year ago, my partner Jeremy and I decided to move in together, merging our lives not just emotionally but practically. With my office already set up inside the house, we faced the challenge of finding a workspace for Jeremy. The solution? A blend of necessity and creativity led us to conceptualize what we fondly call our “She Shed.”
As someone who has always harbored dreams of entrepreneurship, but was less acquainted with the “business-y” side of things, setting up this space was an exhilarating experience. The “She Shed” was a quick decision but one that came together perfectly – a testament to our combined efforts and a symbol of our entrepreneurial journey as a couple.
Moving to Charleston in 2020 and overcoming the challenges of finding a place that felt like home, we didn’t just want to create a space; we wanted to manifest a haven for creativity and growth. And so, we did. From conceptualizing during drives around beautiful Charleston to finally buying the perfect shed, our journey was nothing short of magical.
But our “She Shed” is more than just an office. It’s the physical manifestation of our dreams, aspirations, and the love we have for our work. Before the walls went up, Jeremy and I wrote our affirmations and manifestations onto the studs, embedding our hopes and dreams into the very structure of the shed. It’s a constant reminder of where we started and where we’re heading.
Our “She Shed” has seen incredible traction lately, even catching the attention of magazines. It stands out not just for its uniqueness but for the love and creativity it encapsulates. It’s where I’ve continued to grow On Brand Designs, where we record our podcasts, and where we connect and grow as both partners and entrepreneurs.
In many ways, the “She Shed” reflects the very essence of our entrepreneurial journey – filled with challenges, sprinkled with moments of doubt, but ultimately, leading to something beautiful and profoundly satisfying. It’s our space of creativity, productivity, and peace, allowing us to work in harmony without stepping on each other’s toes.
