I recently had an enlightening experience I couldn’t wait to share with you all. As a creative entrepreneur and owner of On Brand Designs, as well as the creator of the Profitable Brand Designer course, my journey has been a thrilling ride of growth, learning, and self-discovery. In this blog post, I want to dive into a recent catalyst for both personal and professional development that my partner Jeremy and I embarked on—a journey fueled by books, an entrepreneurial book club, and a paradigm shift around working smarter, not harder.
Discovering the Joy of Shared Growth
Jeremy and I recently joined a book club focused on self-development and entrepreneurial mindset—topics we’re both passionate about. We’ve always been avid listeners to books that drive growth and open up new ways of thinking, but joining this book club elevated our experience. It became a shared journey, an exploration into understanding how continuous learning and community discussions could push us further in our entrepreneurial path.
The Magic of Gratitude and Abundance
Our recent reads, starting with The Abundance Project by Derek Ral and The Magic by Rhonda Byrne, re-centered our perspective on gratitude. These books weren’t just literature; they were a call to action. They prompted us to acknowledge the abundance around us—more than just financial wealth, but also love, happiness, and health. Implementing daily practices of gratitude, as suggested, transformed our outlook and approach to life and business. Suddenly, the challenges of entrepreneurship began to look different, more manageable, and filled with endless possibilities.
Finding the ‘Who’ Not ‘How’
A turning point came with our deep dive into Who Not How by Dan Sullivan with Dr. Benjamin Hardy and 10X Is Easier Than 2X. These reads were not just eye-opening; they were life-changing. The concept of finding the ‘who’ to help achieve goals rather than getting bogged down in the ‘how’ was revolutionary. It was about learning to delegate, to trust, and to focus on our strengths while letting others shine in theirs.
Particularly, the concept hit home for me. As someone deeply involved in every aspect of my business, learning to delegate and to find the right people to take on various roles isn’t just freeing; it’s essential for growth. I began to see my occasional procrastination not as a flaw, but as a sign that I needed to find my ‘who’ for specific tasks outside my zone of genius.
Shifting Towards a 10X Mindset
Embracing the 10X mindset meant re-evaluating what success looks like. It’s not about small, incremental changes but rather massive, transformative growth. It’s about dreaming bigger, aiming higher, and removing the bottlenecks (often, myself) that hinder progress. This shift in mindset is empowering. It’s not just about scaling a business; it’s about scaling life’s ambitions, impact, and fulfillment.

So here I am, urging you, whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur or a budding creative, to embrace the transformative power of professional photography in branding. Let it capture not just where your business is today, but the vibrancy and essence of where it’s headed. For anyone on the entrepreneurial path, my message is this: invest in your growth, find your ‘who,’ focus on abundance, and don’t shy away from aiming for that 10X growth. The journey might be challenging, but with the right mindset, community, and resources, it’s filled with unparalleled rewards.
